Faithful Stewards of the Mystery
Bible Text: I Corinthians 4:1-5 | Speaker: Pastor James Zaebst
I Corinthians 4:1: Every single believer is a Minister of Christ. We are all in the ministry. We are also managers or Dispensers of the Mysteries or secrets of God.
I Corinthians 4:2: We are to faithfully share the mystery with others as God gives us opportunity. If we fail to do so, we are being unfaithful to our Savior who died that we might live eternally.
I Corinthians 4:3-5: We will one day be judged on how well we did sharing the mystery with others.
God gave unto Paul brand new, previously unrevealed truths for the Church the Body of Christ (Romans 16:25 and 26).
As we share the mystery by teaching Paul’s writings, we chip away at the confusion that grips most believers.
In Paul’s writings, we see that our salvation rests not on our own faithfulness, but on Christ’s faithfulness (Mark 10:17-22 and Romans 3:21 and 22). In Paul’s writings, we see that our hope is a heavenly rather than an earthly one (Isaiah 35:1-10 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18). In Paul’s writings, we see that we are a body of believers that are distinct from Israel (I Corinthians 10:32 and Ephesians 2:11-16). In Paul’s writings alone, we have the walk, the talk, and the position of the Church the Body of Christ (Ephesians 3:2 and Colossians 1:25 and 26).
