Honoring God with Our Finances
Speaker: Pastor James Zaebst | Proverbs 3:9 and 10: God asks us to honor Him with ourfinances. He asks us to put Him first. He promises to
bless those who support His work (Psalm 37:25).
God wants us to realize that all that we have is really His. All our wealth is from God (I Corinthians 4:7 and
James 1:16 and 17).
We are called to be a faithful steward of all that God has so richly blessed us with (I Corinthians 4:2). God blesses
us so we can support His work bountifully (Matthew 25:14-30).
God looks at our gifts to Him not by considering what we give, but by what we hold back for ourselves (Luke 12:41-44).
If our heart is right with God, we should willingly and generously support the
work of the Lord; it should serve us as a source of joy (II Corinthians 9:7).
Our return on our giving is in direct proportion to our willingness to give
(II Corinthians 9:6). Only by investing in the work of the Lord, can we expect spiritual fruit.
We must ask ourselves what value do I personally put on the Lord’s work? What is my part in ensuring that the
Lord’s work continues on with the ability to reach the next generation?
