Parable of Ten Pounds – Part 1

Passage: Luke 19:11-27
Service Type:

Bible Text: Luke 19:11-27 | Speaker: Pastor James Zaebst | Luke 19:11: This Parable tells of God’s postponement of the Kingdom and Christ’s 1000 year Millennial Reign.
Israel wanted their promised King and Kingdom
(II-Samuel 7:10-17).
They were seriously hoping He had come to reign
(Mark 11:1-11).

Luke 19:12: Christ is now in Heaven but He will return and set up His Kingdom.
God will give Christ His Kingdom—not man.
Now Christ is in exile. The Kingdom is postponed pending Israel’s national repentance and salvation (Acts 3:19-21) Israel would not accept their Savior-King (Acts 5:30-33 and 7:54-59).
One day they will (Romans 11:23 and 26). And only when they do will Christ return and give them their Kingdom
(Revelation 19:11-16 and 20:2 and 3).

Luke 19:13 and 14): Christ gave Israel instructions for serving Him after He left.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit they were to spread the Kingdom Gospel to the world (Mark 16:15-18). They failed at this!
The citizens (Israel) hated Christ (John 1:11 and Isaiah 53:3).

Luke 19:15-19: When Christ returns He will reward the faithful. They will reign with Christ for a thousand years
(Revelation 20:4).

Luke 19:20-25: The wicked will be judged
(Revelation 20:11-15).

Luke 19:26 and 27: In the end Christ will slay all who oppose Him before (Revelation 19:17-21) and after
(Revelation 20:7-10) Israel is given their Kingdom.
