The Prodigal Son
Bible Text: Luke 15:11-32 | Speaker: Pastor James Zaebst
Luke 15:11 – We are God’s child by an act of His grace (Ephesians 1:5).
Luke 15:12-13 – Sometimes young people and adults make bad mistakes and we have to let them do so. We are all crated as free moral agents. Teach your children right and put the min the Lord’s hands (Proverbs 22:6). Teach them right and then let them go (Ephesians 6:4).
Luke 15:14-16 – People need to experience the consequences of our decisions that leads us to repentance (I Corinthians 5:1-5 and Psalm 51:3-10).
Luke 15:20-24 – The love of the Father is unconditional (Romans 8:35-39). He never disowns a child (Hebrews 13:5).
Luke 15:25-32 – The Father’s love is in now way dependent on the opinions of men. He alone secures the relationship with us (Romans 8:34). Even though the world may share the attitude of Jonah (Jonah 3:4-4:4).
The Prodigal Son lost only his fellowship through riotous living, not his relationship. His relationship as a son was secure due to the father’s unconditional love.
