The Virtuous Woman
Proverbs 31:10: The value of a virtuous woman justifies her pursuit even at the expense of much time, energy and resources. Put all you have into finding one.
Genesis 28:1, 2 and 5: Jacob journeyed far for Rachael.
Genesis 29:20 and 26-30: Jacob worked hard for many years for Rachael.
Genesis 29:10 and 11: Jacob loved Rachael from the moment he first saw her.
Proverbs 31:11 and 12: The virtuous woman has the complete and total trust of her husband. Trustworthiness is hard to find (Proverbs 20:6). It should be the norm in the home between husband and wife.
Proverbs 31:13-15: She works hard to stretch the family’s resources.
Proverbs 31:16-19: She willingly works hard outside the home as well if needed, balancing her many responsibilities.
Proverbs 31:20: The virtuous woman cares for even those outside her home.
Proverbs 31:21-23: The virtuous woman truly makes the house a home. She adds the “woman’s touch”. She dresses up her family taking joy in how they look.
Proverbs 31:24: All of this while often juggling a career!
Proverbs 31:25: She is the strongest one in the house. The backbone of the family, the encourager to all. Especially to her husband.
Proverbs 31:26: She corrects her children in love (Proverbs 1:8 and 9 and 13:24).
Proverbs 31:27: She works hard and can always be counted on to do the right thing for her family (even to the sacrifice of self).
Proverbs 31:28: We do not praise our Mothers and Wives enough. Praise them this day and every day, and thank God for them.
