The Virtuous Woman

Passage: Proverbs 31:10-28
Service Type:

Bible Text: Proverbs 31:10-28 | Speaker: Pastor James Zaebst

Proverbs 31:10: The value of a virtuous woman justifies her pursuit even at the expense of much time, energy and resources. Put all you have into finding one. Jacob journeyed far for Rachael (Genesis 28: 1-2, 5). Jacob worked hard for many years for Rachael (Genesis 29:20, 26-30). Jacob loved Rachael from the moment he first saw her (Genesis 29:10-11).

Proverbs 31:11-12: The virtuous woman has the complete and total trust of her husband. Trustworthiness is hard to find (Proverbs 20:6). It should be the norm in the home among husband and wife.

Proverbs 31:13-15: She works hard to stretch the families resources.

Proverbs 31:16-19: She willingly works hard outside the home as well if needed, balancing her many responsibilities.

Proverbs 31:20: The virtuous woman cares for even those outside her home.

Proverbs 31:21-23: The virtuous woman truly makes the house a home. She adds the “woman’s touch”. She dresses up her family taking joy in how they look.

Proverbs 31:24: All of this while often juggling a career!

Proverbs 31:25: She is the strongest one in the house. The backbone of the family, the encourager to all. Especially to her husband.

Proverbs 31:26: She corrects her children in love (Proverbs 1:8-9 & Proverbs 13:24).

Proverbs 31:27: She works hard and can always be counted on to do the right thing for her family (even to the sacrifice of self).

Proverbs 31:28: We do not praise our Mother and Wives enough. Praise them this day and everyday, and thank God for them.
